Blueberry Tart Recipe from The Brothers Moon

 For today's entry we have a delicious dessert that can be made using local ingredients like blueberries! This is also from Chef William Mooney of The Brothers Moon in Hopewell. In addition to being a fantastic restaurant, The Brothers Moon supports sustainable farming and local businesses!

Blueberry Tart – (need to make 2)

Serves 8 to 10

 

Topping

1½ Pints Blueberries – rinsed

1  T. Sugar

Filling

¼ cup Almonds

2–3 T. Sugar

2 T. Flour

Grind together in food processor till almonds are fine.

 

Dough for crust

1½  cup All-purpose flour

1½ Stick Cold butter

1 T. Sugar

Pinch of Salt

2 –4  T. Ice water

 

  1. Pulse to combine dough for crust ingredients in food processor.
  2. Allow to rest in fridge for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Roll dough on floured surface and then place into Tart Shell pan.
  4. Place almond filling in bottom of shell. Cover this layer with rinsed blueberries. Sprinkle remaining sugar over the blueberries.
  5. Bake in a 350 degree oven till the shell is golden brown and blueberries are soft and wilted, about 25-35 minutes
  6. Allow time for cooling.
